I have used Jackson Hewitt for several years and have always gotten good quality service and was happy. Till this year. This year however left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never walk through thier doors again. Not even to pick up my refund check that dropped from 5400.00 to 42.00.
My problem with them started January 28th at my local office.
I went in to file my taxes and was told I would qualify for a rapid anticipation loan. So i filed. The next day I got a call that I could not claim my son as a dependant as someone already had. I told them ok do the paper work and see if I qualify for an ral thinking ok there is no minimum that you have to have to qualify.
I get a call saying my new paperwork is ready for me to sign. I go in and sign it and it says I am getiing 556.00 back. Im like ok great ral here I come. this was January 29th.
On the 30th I call to see if my rapid anticipation loan is ready. They tell me oh you didnt qualify for an ral but just a loan. Its going to take 8-15 days to get your refund. I asked why did you file when I spefically said if I do not qualify for an ral do not file.
so I wait 8 days and no refund. i keep checking the website and boom nothing. so I call my local call center and they tell me oh your check is in come pick it up. I am like ok cool. So i go to my local office and try to pick up my check no check is there I am like ok? where is the check? they do some checking and then find the Irs hasent sent my refund back yet.
So I call the IRS and they tell me it is 21 days from the day you electronically filed this year no one should be promising ral or even 8-15 days because jackson hewiit h and r block and all then were informed this tax year it is 21 days from the day you filed.taxes were never filed until the 30th of January. Ok so there is 3 red flags now humm. So i call repbulic bank who is issuing the refund checks for jackson hewitt. they tell me not only is it 8-15 days according to them that i will get my refund but they (republic bank) also hold the funds for 8 days after the filing. so now we are at 29 days from the time I filed. (almost doubel to tripple the time jackson hewitt tells me).
And this after I called the bank on the 8th of feb and they told me my refund should be in that day.
i then call jackson hewitts customer service department. They tell me they are going to investigate the issue and have someone call me that day".
well that day comes and goes and no callso I call back on thursday of this week they tell me that oh the complaint has been investigated and you spoke with someone/.I told them I did not and this needs resolved?. I want a refund for the services provided that I am not getting that you told me you would provide:. yet that you didnt'.
They tell me call the district supervisor;. So I call her!. I am told that I will not be getting my fees refunded, I am at the mercy of the irs then the bank then jackson hewitt/. She then also proceeds to tell me that after my fees I am now down from 556.00 to 42.00 I am blown away I went somehow from 5400.00 to 42.00? humm where did over 5000 dollrs go?
so after the lies and decit and the lack of information that they had and knew about and arent providing the service that they said they would and basically in a legal way stole money from me I will never use jackson hewitt scam service again. 128f297

This year someone new did my taxes, I went in on 2/2/12 and it took them til 2/17/12 to file them! on top of that the tax representative was asking me and my wife questions on how to file? What!!! Come on! then she said she needed a Supervisor to look at them... a week passes and they are still having issues. I ended up having to call the IRS myself to get the answers. Then she tells me it is going to cost $500.00 to get my return within 5-7 days! This is with the " Gold Guarantee", I have never paid this much not even from JH in the past! a week after that they are now telling me that the IRS is upgrading their computers and that they didn't know it would take so long. I said I want my refund since I got the Gold Guarantee! They said we can give you $50.00 back that is it. Never Again! |

They are robbing us tax payers our money because they charged you more so you can received your refund faster when in fact they know that it will take a week to a month. I don't care how many people said its not Jackson Hewitt's fault they knew about the problem and they lie to us about the days we will get our refunds and knowingly they charged $368.00 that includes the money the charged you for the 7-13 days. They can be honest and tell people the thruth. They should be a lawsuit against false information we received in regards to our refunds |
