Representative as not knowledgeable.
The representative as not knowledgeable and had to call for assistance through my entire experience. In addition I was told I could not use the 1098-T tax form when I filed even though I was claiming my college student because I was filing separately/married.
I had to go back later to finish my return and the agent kept having me write my personal information down on scrap paper! Finally, the charges for the return being filed by JH were far more than I have ever paid elsewhere. Outrageous.
I feel I was over charged and that my taxes may not have been done properly not to mention securely with being asked to write information down in a kiosk location. I will never use JH again and tell anyone who asks not to use this provider.

I made an appointment at 6000 Ogeechee Road and arrived early, only to be told that I didn't have an appointment with only one tax preparer. I couldn't contact customer service.

JH failed to file my taxes 2023 and I was due a Tabor refund and they said they would refund since I couldnt get it and now I keep getting the run around.. never again will I file with these ppl ever

Got stood up twice for tax service at the Ogeechee Walmart
Agents SHOULD NOT LEAVE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS HANGING!! The lady was not rules but was very dismissive in her actions.
Didn't even bother to resolve my situation. The customer she was attending to seemed very unprofessional to me. And when I did ask if anyone else was coming she act like I was bothering her.
She didn't even offer to give me the customer service number she did give me the number right back to her office. I finally gave up and got the one 800 number to the main office.

Overpriced
We filed a simple return and were charged $225.00 (with a discount). The preparer said it was so expensive because of social security. If they can offer a $49.00 simple filing fee for new customers, they should be able to do better than $225.00 for 13-year veteran customers.

Their special price ended up costing over $400 more
The tax preparer told us the price of doing our federal senior short form taxes would cost $149 with an additional $70 to send out our state income tax forms. We had him send our forms out electronically to the appropriate government agencies.
A week later we get a deposit in our bank account ( not from the government but an institution called Republic bank) over $400 LESS than we were expected. We could not contact to talk to anybody about this discrepancy, the false advertising plus the transparency of fees. We were given a phone number that was never picked up but rather put in a maze of phone prompts and then back to the main menu. We are still looking for help with no results.
Facebook had similar complaints about Jackson Hewitt tax services but noticed many were deleted as well as mine.
Im not sure how this company has received five stars to me. It should be criminal how they run the business.

Applied for loan advance havnt received an email or loan and no help from Jackson Hewitt tax preparer can’t access my account for MyJH can’t use code to authenticate account nothing seems to be workin
Their loan advance hasnt gone threw I got no help from Jackson Hewitt tax office their MyJH account dont work their authentication code dont work their chat bot is dumb you cant access your 2024 tax refund statements it only shows 2023 and they cant give me reason to why I havnt got my loan advance

Pissed off stole my money!
Sent me my card through mail and I used it one time for 200. Sent me another and it's 0 balance.Such a shame they make money off the poor

Absolute Scam!
Up to $1000 early refund advance between December 11th through sometime January?? I called after scheduling an appointment online to clarify the criteria for an advanced and was confirmed the advanced was solely dependent on the amount of your return.
Double-checked there wasn't a credit check. Confirmed No!. Rules claim that your refund amount must be $2600 minus the services and fees. Service prep cost $450, and I didn't add any additional, yet I was charged $54 for the bank to create an account so the IRS will provide direct refund payment too and the owed money can then be with drawn leaving the remainder all mine.
I noticed as I had already completed the rough draft of my income return that I was accountable for a maximum repayment of $500 to the bank for an early refund advanced. Add this to the service charge and new account, and it's $900 plus a little. I hadn't been informed of the $500 at all. The $450 wasn't a concern if I could get the $1000 today!!
I actually would've been stoked to get $500. After an hour and a half I apparently was done. This accountant showed me out, I stopped and asked about the early refund, she hastily stated yes you'll hear from the bank in an hour to 24 hours, we don't process that decision She said have a good afternoon bye.! Wait, What?
We didn't discuss that at all !! Got to my car to check my messages and have one from Jackson Hewitt. Congratulations you qualify for $100 advance today. I know this sounds rude and greedy, but what the *** am I going to do with a $100 during Christmas with 4 kids, *** that doesn't cover the average cell phone bill.
My return is estimated $4150 and minus there "services and fees" of $900 or whatever it leaves $3250 and the ! Minimum refund required to qualify is $2600...mind you that $900, accounts for the repayment to the bank on the advanced of $500 Come to my attention the $500 I would be charged was the requested amount to borrow against my return THE ACCOUNTANT submitted when she completed the draft of the forms. Are they Out of their damn minds if they think I'm accepting this. $100 advance on a $4000 return costing $450 to submit, additionally 4 hours out of my day??

I was charged twice for fed tax prep $335x2. My account is now overdrawn and I am being charged an overdraw fee!

Customer service Complaint
The woman was very rude and unprofessional.. telling me she could not help me and refused to let me speak..That tells me shes lazy and didnt want to do her job..I made a few appointments and was canceled without reason..
She doesn't need to be working with the public.. I will never use again and will recommend for anyone I know not to.. We even had trouble with yall last year..
The woman needs to be fired and not allowed to work there anymore.. Horrible service I've ever had

Fraud
There should be upfront pricing. I was charged $700 for a simple return.
I only made $10,000 last year and Im a single mom.I would have walked out if I had known the fee upfront.
There should be a class action lawsuit.i wouldnt have know the fee unless I checked thIRS website. I only used Jackson Hewit because I had so many medical bills that I thought they could help get deducted but they didnt so it was a waste all the way around.
