UPSET CUSTOMER
My first time ever at Jackson Hewitt AND MY LAST!
I went to the Barberton Ohio location, Dorothy Bowen did my taxes, she charged me 759.00 to do them, she said Federal 3981.00 refund - 759.00 = 3222.00. And my state was separate.
Truth is the 3981.00 is the combined total of Federal and State. She kept my state refund!!!
I called the office in Barberton, left her a voice mail and never received a call back. Very unprofessional, and what a rip off.
Had she told me the true amounts I would have declined to have her do them and she knew this! i will take this to social media and hopefully prevent someone else from being scammed form this company.

Not happy with the service
They seemed to be very helpful and did get me a big return. But at the end I went into shock when they said ok that will be $650.00.
I was caught off guard what?
$650.00 I told them I never paid more than $100 to have my taxes prepared. Well, I paid $650 and got my return but I will never go there again.

I had My 2022 taxes done professionally because I didnt know what to do with the 1090 I think it is. Anyway, I had to wait about 30 min cause someone else was with the tax guy (there was only one guy in a make-shift temporary office).
When I sat down and gave him all my papers, he asked a few questions and I asked how much it was.
He ignored me and smiled. I asked again after he told me of the refund and it was like $400!
I shouldve stopped him earlier when I was told to wait, but I wasnt thinking.
Jackson Hewitt charges wayyyyy too much and does the pop-up offices. Ill never go there again!

Being told I didn't get the second advance but yet they charged me as I did
They gave me a 1000 earlier advancement then when I got me taxes the keep all but 1400 as if I had received a higher advance don't do it go to another place.

This place is crazy
I got charged over 700 dollars for an hour with the tax guy . I had one social one dependent and a tax credit !!!
This is rediculous..and I wasnt told how much till
It was finished and uploaded then they couldnt get me an advance on an almost $6000 return and Im just pissed I could have turbotaxed got better results faster and the same return amount PLUS 700 dollars ! Since when is a strip mall accountant 700 ?!? I mean really ?
Thats should be stated up front why cause I have more coming back they charge me more thats *** .. Id like my money back and Ill refill myself

Vulgar commercial.
Vulgar and suggestive television advertising, specifically "what the buck". This is inappropriate no matter what the viewers age.

Your TV adds are disgusting. Why insinuate someone is using the F bomb?
Why? isn't this world vile enough? Your selling to people for tax preparation!!! It's immature, and not necessary.
You should be better than that! I wouldn't use your services simply because of this.
Seems the world is never vile enough for some people. Shame on a tax return preparer for being obnoxious.
They want you to recognize their name ; we've done it, but only in a manner which will negatively impact their business. Some folks seem to think that negative attention is better than nothing, but it is not.
What the Buck Commercial
I would never do business with your company because of this tasteless and raunchy commercial. I can't believe any advertising company would produce this either. Both companies must be run by children.

Complaint about TV advertising
I would like to express my complaint about and dissatisfaction with your corporate ad occurring regularly on TV stations in the Minneapolis-St.Paul area. Why a company like Jackson Hewitt would revert to vulgar language as a way of attracting potential clients is beyond me.
Yes, I know you didnt actually use the f-bomb at the beginning and end of your TV Ad, but you may have well as. Im trying to educate my grandchildren on the proper use of the English language and avoid the vulgarity implied in your ad. If you thought the use of such language would attract potential customers . .
. . well, it has had the opposite effect on me as I would not do business with a company that uses such language. It has caused me to wonder if all of your employees are comfortable using such language.

The nasty "what the BUCK" tv commercials.
So tired of your dirty television campaign. It is loud and sounds just like what you intended it to. No business from me.

I haven't seen it but I'll take your word for it since I really hate smutty TV campaigns and shows. They will get nothing from me. Just the part you mentioned is nasty enough.

Really??! This is rather distasteful. I am not a prude and swear along with the best, but your ad really reflects poorly on your company.
Agreed ; they have crossed the line. That sort of thing (offensive or obnoxious advertising) has caused me to boycott numerous companies in the past ; add this one to the list. Vote with your wallet.

Pissed about service and charges
I gave the a 1 star. This is only cause I couldn't do less I feel hustled from my $655 dollars of state refund I receive only $9.00.
Additionally tho I'm claiming 4 children and self I'm receiving less federal tax refund than I did last year with 2 dependants. They showed me a total which was an overall refund. Once paperwork was signed then I got the real totals. I'll do it myself in the future.
Or at least not use Jackson Hewitt. I urge others to not use them for their taxing needs.
You shouldn't receive any refund. Why give a free loan to the government for a year or more ?
I work it out close to the bone and pay a small amount each April rather than overpay. The overpay in hopes of receiving what is already yours a year from now is the worst savings plan I can think of.

To get help. I need help
They have been lying to me, giving me the run around since December 2021 and they are not even trying to get to a resolve on the issues I have. I have been promised my fees which I have never received, I was promised an ecard gift card on Friday, never came.
Basically for the year 2020 my preparer did not do her job and I ended up paying 2,448.00 to IRS and she said I agreed to a deferment. Lies. After being lied to that a claim was submitted in January and getting a REAL CLAIM submitted, I have had to do all the footwork. All of it with still no resolve.
Jackson Hewitt has not adhered to their policy or promises of the gold guarantee. All smoke and mirrors. All of it. Everyone of them are liars down to the top corporate person Keri Morgan who says she sent me fees to me well before June but got it back in the mail because she sent it to my old address (but I reiterated so many times about my new address and even made her repeat it back to me) but she got it back in the mail.
She then contacted me to tell me she sent another one out on June 14. That is almost a month ago. It's all a bunch of Bologne and escalations promised me an e gift card on Friday. I've been out of work with COVID and we are doing bad.
I'm a single mom with 2 kids a dog groomer that works my *** off to not live in the projects or depend on the government and I need the money they owe me. That's MY money. Still no check after a month.
I live in Florida, it's "coming" from Oklahoma "... Still, no ecard nor response to the emails saying I never received one.

If I used Jackson Hewitt, I would certainly quit! Any reputable company would have better sense!
Right ! That is one pathetic ad campaign.
Just for that, I promise I will never use them except as an object of derision. I may even roll down my car window and yell "Buck you !" next time I drive past....
